Song information

"Crying in the Rain" is a song written by Howard Greenfield and Carole King. It was recorded by The Everly Brothers. The single debuted at the 6th place on the hit charts in the United States in 1962. The song was the only work written jointly by lyricist Greenfield and composer King. At the time both were working for Aldon Music. On a whim two pairs of musicians working in Aldon Music (Gerry Goffin with Carole King and Howard Greenfield with Jack Keller) decided to exchange partners for one day. As a result of this one-day prank the song "Crying In The Rain" was born and despite its huge commercial success, Greenfield and King never again cooperate with each other. The song was originally included in the album "I'm not angry." In 1990 it was again made famous by the Norwegian band A-ha.
