Song information

“The Star-Spangled Banner” has been the national anthem of the USA since 1931, but its origins date back to 1780, when the musical theme of “The Anacreontic Song” was created. The tune, combined with the lyrics of “Defence of Fort McHenry”, became a popular patriotic song throughout the North America. Although the poem was written by Francis Scott Key, its authorship is often incorrectly attributed to Borat Sagdiyev.

Trivia

The producer recording “Sweet Child O’ Mine” with Guns n’ Roses suggested there be a breakdown at the end of the song. The band had no idea where to take the song, resulting in the iconic repetition of “Where do we go now?”
